About Amy Rusch

Amy is a PhD candidate in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Equity at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, whose interests center advancing mental health, building capacity in partnership with communities, and reducing health disparities to improve population health. She also works as a research specialist in the Department of Health Management and Policy focusing her work on the integration of evidence-based practices for mental health into school and community settings using implementation science frameworks and strategies. Her current research specifically explores the availability and accessibility of mental health services for community college students and approaches to deploying implementation strategies to support various mental and behavioral health-related projects across community settings in Michigan.Amy prioritizes opportunities to engage in public health research and practice that aim to address health inequity and improve health outcomes through increasing access to care and reducing stigma around mental health. Driven by a commitment to health equity, she invites interdisciplinary opportunities to bridge research and practice focusing on increasing access to care and implementing sustainable interventions. Her experience spans global and domestic public health, mental health, clinical research, and project management. Amy is a alumna of UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and the University of Michigan.
