According to the United Nations, up to a million of the globe’s plants and animals are at risk of extinction by 2050 - many of them species that communities around the world depend on for their health and wellbeing. This poses an existential threat to the people and places that are most vulnerable, and it creates a moral imperative for all of us to act. At Planet, I do just that: expanding and integrating a portfolio of nature conservation initiatives with myriad partners in government, the private sector, and civil society, including those on the frontlines of restoration and protection efforts. I help build public goods that accelerate conservation action and guide conservation decisions and strategy, using high-resolution, high-frequency, and hyperspectral information about our planet and the insights derived by artificial intelligence and human expertise.
