About Amy Lieberman

I recently earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Joiner in the Laboratory for the Study of Suicide-Related Conditions and Behaviors. As both an undergraduate (Northwestern University) and post-baccalaureate research fellow (National Institute of Mental Health), I tailored my research to schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. Since joining Dr. Joiner\'s team, I have expanded my research to explore self-integration and body-trust, specifically as they relate to suicidal outcomes. I also have a strong interest in integrating mental health with physical health, particularly that of body-trust as it relates to eating pathology. As a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, group fitness instructor, and nutritionist, my goal is to fuse my dual-passions to create a foundation for holistic care. In 2023, I founded UpLIFT: Food & Fitness Freedom, LLC, which is a 1:1 virtual coaching business tailored to those struggling with negative body image and/or irregular eating patterns. I work to empower my clients to trust their hunger cues, eat intuitively, and view their bodies neutrally.
