ABOUT AMY HOWORTH

I’m the former Mayor of Manhattan Beach, and I’m passionate about local government and those who serve in it. I use my experience as a 16 year successful public servant to coach elected officials and staff to get the best from each other. I\'m a community-oriented governance and organizational development expert with demonstrated abilities in team building, executive hiring and evaluation, coaching, facilitation, and community engagement. I use humor and my deep knowledge of local government to helps team get through conflict and build trust. I\'m passionate about developing leaders and I love coaching new council members. My respect for subject matter experts, coupled with my first hand knowledge of politics allows me to see both sides and help teams align their skills, values, and goals to get things done for their constituents. Governing doesn’t come with a handbook.
