After 15 years of leadership in the retail sector, I am now pursuing my long-term ambition to teach by completing my Initial Teacher Training (ITT) with the Associated Merseyside Partnership SCITT, specialising in Primary Education (ages 7–11).My background in retail leadership has given me extensive experience in managing and developing teams; coaching and mentoring; creating positive, productive environments where individuals can thrive and a wealth of knowledge across training & adult education provision. Skills such as communication, organisation, problem-solving and resilience have been central to my career and now underpin my practice as I transition into the classroom.I am passionate about helping young learners grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence. Through my ITT, I am developing a strong foundation in curriculum planning, behaviour management, and evidence-based teaching strategies, while also reflecting on how to bring creativity and inclusivity into every lesson - with a core purpose of supporting and developing children to become the leaders; creators and innovators that will shape our future. Key areas of interest include: • Building supportive and inspiring classroom environments • Using assessment to inform teaching and accelerate progress • Championing children’s well-being and personal development • Drawing on leadership experience to foster collaboration across the school communityI am excited to embark on this new chapter, combining my proven leadership skills with a commitment to making a lasting impact in primary education.
