About Amy Hillyard
Over the course of my career, I’ve guided leaders and teams from companies as diverse as Apple, Salesforce, Electronic Arts and the SFMOMA toward clarity, supporting them to reach their desired results and achieve their highest potential. My style is one of cultivating a deep, trusted partnership with my clients. I have worked with leaders from diverse sectors and context, but one lesson is consistent: when leaders have clarity, a path forward and committed practices, they can achieve results and make a meaningful impact on the people and the communities they serve. In my work with organizational systems—corporate, non-profit and my own small business—I serve as an observer of patterns, synthesizer of truth and designer of potential paths forward. My process is collaborative, I step into my client’s shoes and walk alongside them, listening deeply and reflecting back what I see, feel and sense. I use my training in systems thinking, change management, design thinking, and integral psychology to synthesize the current state and generate possible paths forward. Then, together with my client, we assess the pros and cons and make strategic choices and illuminate the path forward. When working one on one with individuals, I hold an integral frame and explore—in a safe, confidential environment—how they can deepen not only their leadership capacity, but their broader experience of being human. My clients report they’re better able to identify opportunities for growth and to overcome barriers to progress and that they are fundamentally transformed by the work that we do together. We all want to achieve success for our organizations and for ourselves. It’s my job to help you get there more quickly by creating clarity and illuminating a path forward.

Co-owner and Creative Director

Manage growth strategy, team building, and community building within our organization.Growth Strategy. Building on the success of the original SF location (Article on Farley’s), we’ve opened two East Bay locations and two airport cafes. In addition, I managed the design and build out of an expanded Farley’s Oakland, growing sales by 50%.Team Building. As Farley’s has grown, I’ve focused on developing a common language, shared practices, and defined processes to help us work collectively toward our goals. Whenever possible, we promote from within our Farley’s family. Dishwashers, cooks, and baristas often move into shift lead or management roles. We also mentor employees who move on to start their own businesses within our community. Community building. Each of our Farley’s locations is grounded in the community. All locations feature local artists, offer speakers and other programming, and support nonprofits and schools. After a successful Kickstarter supported by our incredible community, Farley’s worked with the city to establish Oakland’s first, creating an outdoor respite for all.
