Manage $100MM of annual spend• Negotiate raw material and contract manufacturing contracts and agreements with suppliers for the North American plastics business segment to ensure cost competitiveness and supply security• Interface daily with supply chain contacts to handle supply issues due to oversights, shortages, force majeures, transportation challenges, etc, to get materials where they need to be• Liaise between the business and contract manufacturers to ensure issues are proactively identified when possible and/or are dealt with timely and positively to maintain strong partnerships• Navigate expectation management of challenging forecast and low demand issues/concerns with suppliers• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify and secure alternative raw materials • Represent the North American procurement function in monthly and quarterly business leadership meetings • Lead, mentor and develop two sourcing managers• Led a cross-functional team project to qualify a raw material resulting in improved supply security and a savings of $14MM/year• Avoided a $1.8MM take-or-pay penalty from a major supplier because of a positively built relationship in the interest of continued partnership • Shifted volume to a higher quality vendor who was historically higher priced securing a price equivalent to the non-preferred vendor for an overall savings of $200K• Secured scarce raw materials to avoid automaker plant shut-downs that would have resulted in millions of dollars of penalties and significant reputational damage via patient, calm, and partnership-centered communication with suppliers through the Covid impact • Led a cross-functional team project to qualify an additional contract manufacturer to secure commercial resilience for automotive customers
