ABOUT AMY F. STENGEL

Experienced attorney and mediator with diverse legal background in the public and private sectors including family practice, alternative dispute resolution, administrative law and natural resources. My desire to support clients through difficult personal transitions, as well as my own experience with divorce and co-parenting, lead me to my current work in family practice after practicing in other areas of law since 2003. Currently, I represent clients in litigation in domestic cases including both dissolution proceedings and post-decree matters, and I mediate both pre and post-decree cases for clients. I appreciate the human connection that family practice affords and feel that I\'m making a difference in people\'s lives. I am committed to the practice of \'conscious law\' including facilitating opportunities for clients to achieve personal growth and transformation through the divorce process and minimizing the conflict, costs and damage from unnecessary and prolonged litigation. I also have experience in natural resources law, administrative law and regulatory practice, contract negotiation and providing general counsel to different state agencies in a wide range of matters, including eight years as an assistant attorney general with the Colorado Attorney General\'s Office. I have provided leadership in multi-party conflicts involving the state, the federal government and other public entities and am also trained in mediation, facilitation and conflict resolution. A skilled relationship-builder, writer and communicator, I excel at bringing people and parties together to develop solutions to multi-faceted problems. Core competencies include- relationship-building - collaborating and problem-solving - counseling, advising clients - persuasive writing - analytical reasoning - communicating clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
