ABOUT AMY DRISCOLL
I’m the opinion editor for the Miami Herald and winner of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing for my series, Broken Promises. Previously, I led coverage of politics and health care policy. During 2020, I focused on documenting the impact of the pandemic on South Florida and giving readers essential information about the election from a Florida perspective.I\'ve also been the international affairs editor, leading coverage of the upheaval in Venezuela, the peace process in Colombia and elections in Haiti. In my health policy job, I launched our coverage of the Affordable Care Act and its continuing strong impact on Florida.I was a Nieman Fellow in journalism at Harvard in 2003. I\'m a storyteller at heart, with an entrepreneurial bent, which led to a six-part narrative podcast about the shift in society\'s relationship with marijuana as told through the eyes of a famous race car driver and prolific pot smuggler. With a partner, I also launched FlashbackMiami, a photo archive site where we trace the history of Miami, one photo at a time.I\'ll always listen to a good story idea: a••••••••@miamiherald.com
