The Oregon Youth Authority encourages family members to be part of youths’ lives while in OYA’s care and custody. Positive family involvement helps inspire youth to engage in treatment, education, and reformation programs. Family connections make a difference. Youth who feel supported by and are included in their families do better in treatment.
