ABOUT AMY CATON

I\'m a social impact and corporate responsibility professional with a track record of delivering high quality results in a matrixed environment. Proactive, conscientious and with a high degree of integrity I thrive when leading a team, coaching and inspiring others to deliver great results. I\'m thrilled to be leading two digital skills programmes for BT. The first is designed to broaden young peoples’ horizons by exciting and inspiring them around careers in digital and data, and providing practical support to launch their careers. The second is designed to boost the skills and confidence of older and digitally excluded people to help them make the most of life in a digital world. Having begun my career with a number of HR assignments in the UK, I moved on to lead the BT HR transformation programme in the Americas, based in Texas. Following the successful completion of this programme I joined the Work Ready team which has supported over 16-24 year olds through face to face events, and young people and job seekers in total since 2014. There my passion for social equality grew, instilling a dedication to boosting the aspirations of young people and NEETs, and supporting people who feel cut-off from the digital world. In 2021 I had a 6 month secondment to Avado to help lead, deliver and shape the ambitious and pioneering FastFutures programme. Designed to help talented and diverse young people upskill and start their careers each year, FastFutures has provided thousands of young people with free, part time learning each year. I’m currently focussing my efforts on leading and developing programmes and collaborative partnerships that have a demonstrable impact in these areas, at scale and pace. Outside of work I am proud to have been a NED of Youth Employment UK (youthemployment.org.uk) since 2020. I also run a Girl Guide unit and mentor young adults in my local community.
