About Amy Bodmann
An international development practitioner with 25 years of experience designing and implementing development programs for USAID and other donors with a focus on environmental conservation and natural resource management. As an independent consultant, carries out business development efforts - including writing technical proposals, leading proposal efforts, and conducting intelligence-gathering trips. Recent activity includes proposal development for environment, agricultural value chain strengthening, and urban water and sanitation programs in Afghanistan, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Served as project director for high-performing trans-boundary environment/biodiversity conservation programs for USAID in Southern Africa in the Okavango Delta and Limpopo River Basin. Extensive new business development experience including proposal leadership, technical approach writing, and mentorship of colleagues in all other proposal roles. More than ten years of experience promoting compliance with USAID environmental compliance regulations in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Colombia, Bolivia, Afghanistan, Haiti, and elsewhere, including building capacity of project staff to comply with regulations. Served as director of Chemonics’ Environmental Services Practice Network, and supervised a USAID/Panama biodiversity conservation project supporting sustainable forestry, alternative livelihoods, and climate change adaptation in the Darien. Presented training courses in the U.S, overseas, and remotely (via Skype and email) on topics including environmental compliance and business ethics. Native English, fluent Spanish.
