ABOUT AMRUT KULKARNI

The gap between a compelling architecture and something that actually ships is where most programmes fall apart. I work in that gap — and have done for twenty years, across Travel & Hospitality, Retail, and Consumer Products. I architect MACH-based, composable platforms — but the technology stack is never the hard part. The hard part is setting a direction the business believes in, making build-vs-buy decisions with conviction, and establishing the standards that let product and engineering teams move fast without accumulating debt. I have navigated platform modernisation from legacy monoliths to composable, cloud-native architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP — and I know the difference between an architecture that looks right on a whiteboard and one that holds up in production. On the engineering side, I build and scale high-performing teams — creating the conditions where architects, tech leads, and engineers do their best work, grow, and stay. I own delivery accountability across complex, multi-workstream programmes, hold the bar on engineering quality, and lead globally distributed teams across onshore, offshore, and nearshore models. On AI, I bring hands-on engineering capability across LLM APIs, RAG/vector search, agentic orchestration, and fine-tuning. Enough depth to decide where AI genuinely changes a business outcome, how it integrates into existing enterprise systems, and what it actually takes to move an AI capability from prototype to something an engineering team can own and operate.
