About Amritha A S
I am a Pre-Final Year B.Tech Biotechnology undergraduate at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, with hands-on research experience across molecular biology, cell culture, microbiology, and applied biotechnology.My research interest lies in Industrial and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. My work includes research on anti-inflammatory nutrition and dyslipidemia, where I gained exposure to hepatocyte isolation, mammalian cell culture maintenance, cell viability assessment, and cryopreservation. I have contributed to a review manuscript through structured literature analysis and pathway correlation.I have also worked on microbial fuel cells and bioenergy systems, studying algae–bacteria interactions, electrode performance, and electrical output analysis. Currently, I am engaged in fungal secondary metabolite extraction for drug discovery, focusing on solvent-based extraction, downstream processing workflows, and analytical optimisation using TLC and UV–Vis spectroscopy. In addition, I have industry exposure through a QA/QC pharmaceutical internship, involving microbial limit testing, sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and contamination analysis.I am particularly interested in research-driven fellowships and intensive laboratory-based training in biotechnology, biomedical research, and pharmaceutical sciences.Actively seeking research fellowships, summer research programs, and mentored lab opportunities. Open to collaborations and PI-led projects.
