ABOUT ADAM PINKOSKI

I completed my PhD in epidemiology (injury prevention) looking at systematic biases introduced through the usage of public access injury data in professional sporting populations. I use epidemiological methods in applied performance settings to identify trends in performance and medical data. The ultimate goal of my work is to implement interventions when necessary for injury prevention and/or performance enhancement. I taught in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation at the University of Alberta as a Principal Instructor for 7 years. My primary focus was on Assessment of Health/Performance in addition to human anatomy and exercise physiology. During this window I worked concurrently in the tech industry, conducting R&D on neuromuscular and physiological sensors for medical and sports performance applications.I completed my BKin at the University of Alberta and my MSc at Loughborough University. My MSc dissertation focused on the validation of a physical activity tracker for wheelchair-based sport.I am a certified performance and sport scientist (CPSS) and Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, and Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) and High Performance Specialist (HPS) through CSEP. I am a Professor (Adjunct) with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (Dept. Of Physical Therapy) at the University of Alberta. My research interests include musculoskeletal biomechanics/injuries, strength & conditioning, exercise physiology, data science and statistical modelling.I currently work as an Epidemiologist and Assistant Director of Performance Science for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League.
