About Amos Miller
Open-world human spaces are the largest untapped frontier in AI. Sidewalks, campuses, transit hubs, and city centers remain dynamic, unmapped, and beyond the reach of today’s autonomous systems. Solving intelligence at this level demands a new approach to real-world reasoning and continuous learning in the wild.At Glidance, we are building the spatial intelligence platform for autonomy in open-world human spaces.Glide — our first real-world embodiment of this platform — enables blind individuals to navigate complex, uncontrolled pedestrian environments, operating in some of the most dynamic and safety-critical conditions autonomy can face.As a blind technologist, I have experienced firsthand both the promise and the limitations of existing approaches to navigation — insight that directly shaped the thesis behind Glidance. As Founder & CEO, I lead the development of frontier robotics and multimodal spatial intelligence systems designed for open-world autonomy. By solving navigation at pedestrian scale, we are building the data flywheel and architectural foundation for a new category of robotics. This is not just a product. It is infrastructure for autonomous movement in shared human spaces. What began as a research challenge is now an operational system — and the foundation for scaling spatial intelligence across real-world human environments.I’m always interested in connecting with engineers, researchers, and partners drawn to hard real-world problems in AI.The next major frontier in AI is autonomy that enhances human agency.

Glidance is building the spatial intelligence platform for autonomy in open-world human spaces, beginning with Glide — a navigation robot operating in complex pedestrian environments.• Founded the company in 2023 and led Glide from concept through full R&D to a production-ready system, solving safe navigation in dynamic, unmapped human environments.• Architecting a multimodal autonomy stack for pedestrian-scale environments — integrating perception, real-time reasoning, behavioral adaptation, and continuous learning from field deployment.• Deploy Glide with early adopters in real-world, uncontrolled environments, enabling blind individuals to navigate daily while generating live operational data to train spatial intelligence models.• Established the foundation for a pedestrian-scale data flywheel — capturing environmental complexity beyond static maps and closed-world robotics benchmarks.• Built and lead a cross-disciplinary team spanning mechanical, electrical, software, and AI engineering — including PhD-level expertise across robotics and machine learning.• Validated system readiness through testing with individuals and secured significant preorder demand ahead of manufacturing scale.
