About Amol Jamkar

I am interested in raising awareness and discussing about mental health disorders like Real Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) or Intrusive Thoughts OCD since I have myself suffered from this disorder since end of year 2008, leading to myself often being misunderstood by people due to my obsessions, compulsions and other related symptoms. My initial 16 months with the disorder during 2008 to 2010 caused severe damage to my mind, being in extreme stress throughout day and night for 16 months due to extremely negative obsessions, compulsions and obsessive negative thoughts when I was not aware that what I was going through was a mental disorder. The damage caused to my mind in these initial 16 months could not recover completely even after 15 years. Due to the damage caused to my mind in these initial 16 months, even minor negative situations in my life are able to cause severe disruptions which can take months and years to improve. While trying to improve my mental health after the initial damage of around 16 months, I took to OCD medications, exercising, running and taking up a sport. Due to an extremely small batch size in my undergraduate college, being a new college, it was much easier to take up a sport in absence of competition. These improved my mental health to some extent especially in positive situations, but my ability to handle negative situations in personal life and relationships did not improve much since the damage of 16 months caused during 2008 to 2010. Due to my impaired ability to deal with negative situations, these negative situations also tend to worsen the mental damage that was already there, which in turn causes much delay in the recovery, thus falling into a vicious circle of the mental disorder. I took decision to lead a strict single life forever, in the year 2010, which I have been obeying since 2010, since negative interactions in personal life with the opposite gender that involve high emotional attachment is dangerous for me. My late father Mr S. H. Jamkar who was extremely careful of his health taking several precautions for good health passed away unexpectedly on a dark Sunday morning of July 15, 2018 during a medical procedure that involved some medical malpractices and medical errors. This was an extremely dark day of my life as my father who was closer to me than anyone had passed away which we had never expected. This incident and other related incidents after it took extremely heavy toll on my life, making me work harder on my already problematic mental health impacted by Real OCD / Intrusive Thoughts OCD.
