I am a Senior Civil Engineer with over a decade of experience in water-related infrastructure projects across India, the UK, Ireland, Scotland, and the Middle East. Since 2012, I’ve applied engineering design, hydraulic modelling, and project management skills to deliver sustainable, resilient, and regulation-compliant solutions.My career began with UPL – Gharpure Engineering & Construction Pvt Ltd, where I worked on a 120 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant using SBR technology in Haryana. I supervised reinforced concrete water-retaining structures, prepared bar bending schedules, and estimated costs—gaining practical exposure to construction methods, quality control, and site safety.In 2017, I completed a master’s in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering, deepening my understanding of hydraulics, wastewater treatment, and environmental systems. I then joined Darashaw & Co. Pvt Ltd as an Associate Design Engineer, preparing DPRs, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for urban infrastructure. I worked with municipal authorities to align engineering solutions with statutory requirements and conducted technical risk assessments for STPs.In 2019, I joined Mott MacDonald and progressed to Senior Civil Engineer in 2023. I’ve led complex projects using advanced hydraulic modelling tools, digital platforms, and multidisciplinary collaboration.A key project was the Springwell Reservoir for Northumbrian Water, enhancing water supply resilience for customers. I performed hydraulic calculations, pipe bedding analysis (BS 9295), thrust block design (CIRIA 128), flotation checks, and headloss evaluations. I led flowmeter chamber optioneering, integrated CDM regulations, and coordinated under-pressure tapping (UPT) connections.I’ve also contributed to Irish Water’s asset planning using Bentley WaterGems and ArcGIS, prepared EPDs for Scottish Water under DSEAR regulations, and supported Middle East projects including Abu Dhabi’s Baniyas North irrigation network and Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Development.I remain committed to delivering safe, resilient, and environmentally responsible water systems through engineering excellence and innovation.

   Springwell project includes the following components – - Twin compartments service reservoir (43 ML)- Two inlet mains - DN800 Ductile Iron and DN800 Carbon Steel- Two outlet mains – DN800 Carbon Steel and Carbon Steel- One drain down/overflow pipeline – 315mm HDPE- Inlet and outlet flowmeter chamber and valve chambers - Connections to exiting main (Under pressure tapping and traditional tapping)Roles and responsibilities – - As a design engineer I’m closely working with the project delivery team which involve civil engineer, project managers, design lead, design manager, procurement team, site agents and contracts manager- Responsible for scrutinizing, designing, and preparing the detailed design and construction drawings for all the pipework for design acceptance- Reviewing the outline design, specifications and all the background information and scrutinise the pipeline design submitted by other consultant and comply with the standard specifications- Challenging the outline design to minimise the cover depth by carrying out the structural pipe calculation and utilising GPR survey and existing utility data- Headloss calculation check for the new pipeline alignment and compare with the previous alignment and summarising into the report- Preparation of detailed construction plan and longitudinal section drawings representing all the ancillaries, swabbing locations, pressure testing locations, tie-in connection details, shaft and tunnel crossing details, clay puddle stank locations etc- Calculation of carbon steel pipe fabricated fittings based on AWWA manual equations- Preparation of material schedule of the pipework- Preparation of hazardous triangle drawings- Preparation of specification for ductile iron and carbon steel pipework- Calculation of restrained length for ductile iron pipework by using standard spreadsheet format- Coordination with lead team and venders for pipeline fittings, ancillaries, pipe material selection.
