As the Asset Manager at Deaf-REACH, I lead operations for 20+ HUD-supported units serving Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing residents in Washington, D.C. I ensure compliance with federal housing guidelines and grant funding protocols while approaching the role with both a consulting and for-profit mindset.From day one, I have prioritized people, efficiency, and sustainability. My focus has included identifying operational gaps, launching new initiatives, implementing cost-saving measures, and aligning housing operations with the organization’s long-term strategy.Within my first 90 days, I helped secure a 10% base rent increase, boosting revenue while maintaining community trust and housing stability. I also improved internal reporting systems and oversight practices, enabling leadership to make more informed decisions around budgeting, capital planning, and resident engagement.I collaborate closely with nonprofit leadership and community stakeholders to ensure our housing model supports the broader mission. My responsibilities extend beyond maintenance and rent collection, as I continuously assess how operations can better serve marginalized communities and deliver measurable impact.Whenever possible, I base decisions on reducing risk, improving services, and achieving long-term savings. Most recently, I introduced an in-house pest control program that resulted in a cost reduction of more than 40 percent.This role has allowed me to integrate strategic operations, human-centered design, and mission alignment in building a stronger and more inclusive housing ecosystem.
