Amit is the chief investment officer and global head of life sciences investing within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He leads a team focused on making investments in emerging therapeutics companies and related adjacencies including life science tools and diagnostics. Investments are earlier-stage with a global focus on opportunities in the U.S, Europe and Asia.Previously, Amit was the global head of biotechnology Investment Banking for Goldman Sachs. He has experience in all aspects of investment banking including corporate strategy, finance, M&A and shareholder activism. Amit has led numerous biotechnology IPOs and M&A transactions with over $200 billion in publicly announced and closed transactions. He has a proven track record of driving significant business performance while working with clients to deliver strong advice and outcomes. Amit also has operational experience including corporate restructuring and post-merger integration while at The Boston Consulting Group.
