ABOUT AMIT JAIN
I help governments and partners design and finance large-scale clean energy transitions that are equitable, scalable, and climate-aligned.I work at the intersection of energy, climate change, and development, supporting countries and institutions in navigating low-carbon and climate-resilient transitions.My experience spans financial services, academia, philanthropy, and utilities, with a focus on translating climate ambition into policy, finance, and on-the-ground action.At the World Bank, I lead a $2 billion climate change and renewable energy portfolio in Asia, working across governments, development partners, and the private sector. My work combines qualitative and quantitative analysis on climate risks, opportunities, and energy transition pathways.I hold a PhD in Solar Energy, and have been a Fulbright Scholar at NREL (USA) and a Chevening Financial Fellow at King’s College London.Previously, I have worked with IRENA, the Asian Development Bank, and the Clinton Foundation. I have authored two books and several peer-reviewed journal articles on sustainability and climate change.I use this platform to share insights on climate policy, energy transitions, and development perspectives from the Global South.
