Over the past 28+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across multiple industries and global organisations, focusing on one core mission: simplifying complex enterprise systems and enabling digital transformation at scale.Most recently, I have had the privilege of working on one of the most complex and rewarding journeys in enterprise technology — transforming global ERP and finance platforms for large, regulated organisations.As organisations continue to evolve into digitally enabled enterprises, the role of ERP is also changing. It is no longer just a transactional system — it is becoming the digital backbone that connects finance, operations, engineering, supply chains and services.Through my work on global ERP transformation programmes, including SAP S/4HANA, Central Finance and Group Reporting initiatives, a few themes have become increasingly clear:1.Simplicity beats complexity - Standardisation and simplification are the foundation of scalable and resilient ERP platforms.2.Data integrity is the real transformation - Without trusted, well-designed data architecture, automation, analytics and AI cannot deliver their full value.3.Governance is critical for enterprise scale - Strong architectural governance ensures innovation does not compromise operational stability, compliance or auditability.4.ERP must be AI-ready - Modern ERP platforms should be designed with automation, intelligent exception handling and predictive insights in mind.5.Capability matters as much as technology - Building strong internal capability and communities of practice is essential to sustain transformation over the long term.These experiences have reinforced my belief that ERP transformation is ultimately about enabling better business decisions, resilience and long-term enterprise value.I continue to be passionate about helping organisations design and deliver simpler, smarter and more resilient digital cores that support innovation while maintaining the trust and reliability required in global operations.Always interested in exchanging ideas with others working on enterprise transformation, ERP strategy and digital platforms.
