About Amit Bhardwaj
I am a cell and molecular biologist with extensive experience in cancer biology. Currently, at Halda Therapeutics, I lead an early discovery oncology program focused on developing precision cancer treatments using RIPTAC technology. As a postdoc at NYU Langone Health, I used CRISPR-Cas9 to generate Tankyrase1 & 2 knockout HEK293 cell lines and conducted whole-cell proteomics, identifying Notch receptors as novel tankyrase targets. Given Notch signaling’s frequent activation in cancers, tankyrase inhibitors could have therapeutic potential. As a research scientist at NYU, I investigated the role of ATDC/TRIM29 in pancreatic cancer.Previously, as a postdoc at ICGEB Trieste, I characterized the interaction between TDP43 and its RNA targets, revealing how UG dinucleotide concentration influences binding, with implications for neurodegenerative diseases.During my PhD at ICGEB India, I studied the molecular and structural stability of a thermostable GH10 xylanase under extreme conditions, uncovering an N- to C-terminal aromatic interaction that acts as a molecular knot, enhancing structural rigidity.
