About Amit Aggarwal
As the Head of Firm & Corporate and Banking practices at SNG & Partners, I bring extensive experience in structured finance transactions, trade finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, financial services, and capital markets. My goal is to provide tailored legal guidance and strategic advice, ensuring client’s success in complex transactions and investment strategies. Notably, I was instrumental in expanding our practice in Mumbai, where I successfully navigated the challenges of the local market and facilitated the firm\'s growth. Moreover, I had the principal responsibility for establishing our office in Singapore, where I strategized and executed the setup process, paving the way for our firm\'s presence in this vital global hub. I also led the offshore operations in Doha, enabling our firm to provide comprehensive services to clients in the region. In the realm of corporate M&A, I possess a deep understanding of corporate laws, exchange control regulations, finance, and securities laws. International investors rely on my expertise to navigate the intricacies of the Indian market and formulate effective strategies. With a strong emphasis on Private Equity, I advise esteemed clients such as private equity funds and family offices. I assist them in formulating and executing entry, investment, and exit strategies across various sectors in India, including real estate, hospitality, retail, non-banking finance, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). As part of business re-organization and restructuring, I have advised multiple business families and corporate houses to reorganize their respective business operations, streamline the segregation of business assets from family assets, setting up of their Indian and offshore investment & business holding entities and at the same time assisting in allocation of business responsibilities to the family members of a business family. I actively engage in developing the firm\'s public image through speaking opportunities and thought leadership initiatives. I am also associated with a partner in conducting independent director\'s training programs, where I offer insightful sessions on legal and compliance perspectives. I am honored to be recognized as a leading Banking & Finance lawyer by esteemed publications like Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Asia law, India Business Law Journal, BW Legal, Forbes India, Legal Era etc. Beyond my professional pursuits, I am passionate about music.
