Amishai Goodman-Goldstein is a Political Communication graduate student at American University whose work spans global civic leadership, political thought, and contemporary American politics and law. He earned a BA in Political Science, summa cum laude, in the School of Public Affairs Honors Program with a Certificate in Political Thought and a minor in history. He will complete his MA in 2026 and plans to continue into further graduate study and law school.Amishai’s academic interests include practical U.S. politics, peace and conflict, political thought, and American political development, with a focus on polarization, fragmentation, civic virtue, manipulation, and public trust. He studies how messaging and institutional behavior shape civic life and political identity.He serves as the National Chair of PeaceWorks Emerging Leaders Council, leading a 150+ member national council and its board in advancing pragmatic, practitioner-driven dialogue on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. At American University, he is a Civic Life Fellow and previously served on the university’s Strategic Planning Working Group on Civic Pluralism. He also coordinates delegations for the Nuclear Studies Institute, including Italy’s Tonalestate International Summer University.His global academic and policy engagements also include the International Peace Symposium of Japan and the European Public Affairs and Advocacy Institute.His writing has earned recognition in both public and intellectual settings. He is co-authoring a chapter for an invited Springer volume on civic and peace education; his analysis of Moby-Dick was selected for the Association of Core Texts and Courses Conference; his honors capstone on higher education and polarization will be presented at the New England Political Science Association’s Annual Meeting; and he has been published in Newsweek.

   Inaugural National Chair of a 150+ member council of rising professionals and advanced students committed to pragmatic and candid dialogue on Israel and Palestine. Built the council’s leadership structure and lead it nationally, oversee its executive board, and guide priorities, operations, and development. Work closely with PeaceWorks executive leadership and external practitioners on Council initiatives including seminars, masterclasses, and structured dialogues. Engage privately with senior Israeli and Palestinian political figures in this capacity.
