ABOUT AMIRREZA POORFAKHRAEI

As a Power Electronics (PE) engineer, I always knew that being successful in my field needs extensive hands-on experience. That is why I have always embraced the opportunity to do experiments and implement PE converters within my academic and work career. Through these experiences, I have gathered a good knowledge and expertise in the majority of PE-related skills, including converter design, simulations (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, ANSYS Electronics), PCB design with Altium Designer, TI DSP programming (both direct and using Simulink embedded coder) as well as assembly, testing and troubleshooting PE converters. I have been the team leader in two major projects in the last five years which both ended successfully. In the latest project, I led a team of four Ph.D. and Mater\'s students at MARC and built a 70 kW, 800 V Three-level EV inverter under the supervision of Dr. Ali Emadi and Dr. Mehdi Narimani. In the other project, I led a team of three Master\'s students and built a 6 kW DAB-based regeneration converter for elevators with supercapacitors as the energy storage unit. This university-founded product was then sold to a private company and is being used as an energy-saving solution in my home country, Iran. Other than PE, my main hobby is reading novels. Fredrick Backman and Kazuo Ishiguro are my favorite writers worldwide, and Gholamhossein Saedi is my favorite Iranian writer!
