I co-lead the Trivest Growth Investment Fund and we make minority equity investments in fast-growing founder-owned businesses. A lot of business owners we speak to aren’t quite ready to give up control of their company but would still like to take some chips off the table. Via the Trivest Growth Investment Fund, we make minority, non-control investments (less than 50%) in qualified companies, then offer our full arsenal of services to help founders grow at an accelerated pace over 3-7 years. The investments we make typically go directly to founders, but often a portion also goes onto the company’s balance sheet to fund future growth. Our partnership is very hands-on and we have extensive experience helping companies scale thoughtfully. Several examples of how we assist include:* Leveraging our in-house business development team to source and complete targeted acquisitions * Recruiting the right talent and instituting a strong internal recruiting capability * Developing a 3 to 5 year roadmap that best positions the business for continued growth * Incorporating our PSG team that canvases our portfolio of 50+ companies for best practices and to make decisions quicker and with more confidence Importantly, our investment is equity and has no debt-like features such as interest/principal payments or covenants. We are fully aligned to grow enterprise value alongside founders. We invest out of a committed fund ($750M) and target $25M to $100M equity checks per platform.
