About Amir Ahmadi
Amir is a cardiologist with a passion for advancing cardiovascular care through precision medicine, innovative research, and clinical excellence. He completed his Cardiology fellowship, Internal Medicine residency, and Medical School at the University of British Columbia, where he also earned an undergraduate degree in immunology and genetics. Dr Ahmadi pursued advanced training in multimodality cardiovascular imaging in New York and now serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at Mount Sinai. He holds leadership roles as Director of Inpatient Cardiology and Co-Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Mount Sinai Morningside.In addition to his clinical practice, which focuses on cardiac intensive care, multimodality imaging, and prevention of early atherosclerosis, Dr. Ahmadi is the Lead Scientific Consultant at Elucid Bio, working on personalized risk assessment and prevention strategies for cardiovascular events. His research centers on using CT coronary angiography to detect and treat subclinical atherosclerosis, understand myocardial infarction mechanisms, and investigate the relationship between high-risk plaque features and ischemia.Dr. Ahmadi has authored impactful publications in leading journals such as JACC, JAMA Cardiology, and the European Heart Journal, earning recognition with prestigious awards, including the Best Clinical Teaching Award (2022) and Faculty Council Award (2023) from Mount Sinai. He is dedicated to integrating innovation and compassionate care to improve outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease.
