Core Experiences (CoreX) is the backbone of TripAdvisor (TA) and provides services to the rest of the company. It also encompasses all the Machine Learning activities. CoreX maintains the Kafka Message Broker and Elasticsearch as a service for the rest of TA. Contribution: one of two engineers working on redesigning Search in TripAdvisor to move away from a hand tuned ranking model into a Learn-to-Rank model. Fixed the broken user activity tracking system, and improved it to be reliable, and provide required data. Implemented ML models designed by Data Scientists. Provided high availability and load optimization on them. Technologies Used: Java, Python, RESTful Web Services, ELK, Kafka, Kubernetes, Hive
