ABOUT RENN AMIN

Hey LinkedIn Community,I’m passionate about making authentication effortless, secure, and seamless for users—because, let’s be honest, if logging in feels like a hassle, something’s gone wrong. As a Director of Software Engineering at Fidelity Investments, I lead authentication initiatives across our platforms, ensuring that millions of users can access their financial data securely without friction. I work closely with UI/UX teams to make sure security doesn’t come at the cost of a great experience. No one should have to jump through unnecessary hoops just to log in, and that’s exactly what I’m solving. Before this, I was at Amazon, where I was a Product Manager driving the adoption of the ServiceNow SPM module. That experience shaped the way I think about engineering through a product lens—balancing security, scalability, and user experience while driving large-scale transformations.I recently transitioned from product management to engineering leadership to understand the full lifecycle of how secure authentication solutions are built, scaled, and optimized. This shift has allowed me to bridge the gap between product and engineering, ensuring that security decisions align with both business goals and user needs. My Areas of Expertise:• Authentication & Identity Management – Designing secure, scalable authentication experiences that users don’t even think about because they just work.• SSO, OAuth & Digital Identity – Previously led SSO and OAuth implementations at Fidelity, ensuring smooth and secure user access.• Vendor Collaboration & Security Strategy – Partnering with top authentication vendors to integrate best-in-class security solutions while keeping the user experience simple.• Engineering & Product Leadership – Merging product thinking with technical execution to create security solutions that balance protection with usability. At the end of the day, authentication should be invisible when it works well and impossible to ignore when it doesn’t—and that’s what I focus on solving every day.Let’s Connect!I love talking about authentication strategies, UX-driven security, fintech, and leadership in product & engineering. If you’re working on something interesting in this space or just want to nerd out over security and seamless access, let’s chat-Renn
