About Amina Bayoumy El-Gharib
I am a Biomedical Engineering MS candidate at Arizona State University with hands-on experience in EEG data analysis, wearable devices, and machine learning for healthcare applications. During my undergraduate capstone project, I developed a seizure detection system using EEG data, applying signal processing techniques and CNN-based models to analyze spectrographic data. This experience strengthened my skills in MATLAB, data analysis, and interpreting physiological signals to support clinical applications.In my current master’s applied project, I am working on wearable-based monitoring to evaluate the impact of exercise on heart rate variability (HRV) and sleep. This involves collecting and analyzing physiological data from wearable devices, performing signal processing and FFT-based analysis, and visualizing trends to understand stress and recovery patterns. I am particularly interested in opportunities within medical devices, wearable technology, and data-driven healthcare, where I can apply my technical background to real-world problems.
