Technology, like art, is a soaring exercise of the human imagination” – Daniel BellI am currently an undergraduate student at Wright State University pursuing a degree in Computer Science. I am always finding tools that can help me learn more about the subject and practice those tools to gain a better understanding of what I’m learning. Computer Science became my main subject of interest quite some time ago. Ever since I was a little girl, we’ve had a PC in our house, and I would spend days on end just experimenting and going through different programs. Being inquisitive as a child I decided that I wanted to learn about the brain of the computer and how it is connected to the body. I’m a photographer by hobby and film-maker by necessity. These mediums of art help me gain a sense of clarity and achievement and I’ve recently discovered that coding brings me that sense of accomplishment too. As a high school student, I worked with several non-profit organizations to help them create awareness about sensitive issues within Pakistan through the medium of photo and video, and I hope that I can use my degree in Computer Science to catalyze such change in this regard as well.Coming from a country like Pakistan I believe that the knowledge I gain and the tools that this degree provides me with will help me bring a positive change in the technological sectors of the country. I am a very patriotic Pakistani and no matter where I go my heart will always remain in Lahore. I think that every person in this world has a purpose and I believe that mine is to give back to the society that has helped me reach where I am.
