ABOUT AMILYN BIXBY
Beginning in March 2024, I started my new position as a Gas Accountant within the Commercial Services Department for National Fuel Supply Corporation and Empire Pipeline, Inc. National Fuel Gas Company (NFG) is an integrated energy company with primary business in Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania. The company has 5 operating segments: Exploration and Production, Pipeline and Storage, Gathering, Utility, and Energy Marketing. Prior to transferring to the Commercial Services Department, I worked as a Financial Auditor in the Audit Services Department at NFG from March 2020 to March 2024. My role primarily focused on the testing of the company’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Internal Controls, specifically over the company’s oil and gas reserves, revenue, financial reporting, benefits, inventory and fixed assets control frameworks. Prior to working in the Audit Services Department, I had worked as a Financial Accountant within the Accounting Department at NFG from July 2015 to March 2020. I helped prepare financial statements and footnotes for our 10Qs and 10Ks, as well as other financial and regulatory reports filed with state and federal regulatory commissions. In addition, I had various financial and administrative duties for NFG’s retirement, executive retirement, and other post-employment benefit plans that included preparing journal entries, footnotes, and financial statements, paying invoices, assisting with the purchases and liquidations of trust assets, and monitoring cash balances and account activity. Regularly I would assist the accounting department at National Fuel Resources (NFR), one of NFG’s former subsidiaries, with various ad hoc accounting and reporting tasks. I also interned with NFG in the Accounting Department from September 2012 to August 2013. Before joining NFG, I worked for Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C, a public accounting firm located in Buffalo, as a Staff Accountant in their Tax Department. While I worked there I prepared tax returns for numerous Individuals, Partnerships, S-Corporations and C-Corporations. I also helped prepare FBARs for numerous clients with international bank accounts. I have a MS in Accounting (’14) and BS in Accounting (’13) from the University at Buffalo. I also am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New York and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with the Institute of Internal Auditors.I am truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other business professionals. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect.
