ABOUT AMIE BANTING

Amie is objective, efficient, and passionate about dental hygiene and oral health promotion. She is a forward-thinking person who excels in completing new challenges and embracing change. Amie developed an interest in dentistry at a young age, encouraged by her late father, who was a dentist. Growing up, Amie spent time in her father’s practice completing administration tasks and dental assisting. Amie graduated from the dental hygiene diploma program in 2003 from the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene. In March 2006, Amie graduated from the Restorative Dental Hygiene program with an honors designation from George Brown College in Toronto, On. In November 2007, Amie was granted her Self-Initiation Status Seal from the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario gave Amie the status of a mentor. Amie is a good standing member of The Canadian Dental Hygiene Association, The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and The Independent Practice Network. Amie served on the Independent Practice Advisory Committee for The Canadian Dental Hygiene Association from 2015 – 2019. Amie has written and passed the Drugs in Dental Hygiene Practice Exam authorizing her to prescribe drugs on the list. Amie is the proprietor of Amie Banting Dental Hygiene Professional Corporation operating her clinical care practice as Heritage Dental Hygiene. Amie has successfully operated her practice in Niagara-on-the-Lake, On. Canada for fourteen years. Her practice offers valuable preventable dental hygiene services, including assessment, and debridement with guided biofilm therapy, and referrals to other health care providers. Amie works closely with prominent referring dentists and specialist in the Niagara Region. Amie has a broad network of close colleagues, mentors, and peers. The Canadian Journal of Dental Hygiene featured Amie on its November/December cover in 2009.In 2008, Amie began using the piezon ultrasonic technology for debridement procedures in her clinical practice. In 2019, Amie introduced EMS-Guided Biofilm Therapy with the AIRFLOW Prophylaxis unit into her practice. Amie is an experienced and skilled Guided Biofilm Therapy clinician. Amie certifies dental professionals and specialists to integrate Guided Biofilm Therapy into clinical practice. Amie presents training lectures for dental professionals or dental industry suppliers in person or online on Guided Biofilm Therapy. Amie’s top five cliffton strengths identify as learning, restorative, achieve, responsibility, and activator.
