About Ami C.

Some years ago, when trying to figure out what career I wanted to pursue, I was encouraged to write down what I wanted my days to look like. I wrote something like this- I\'d love to go to a place that\'s indoors but has the feel of outdoors and/or includes a dog- I want to spend my days at a place that respects my character and allows me to work independently while also providing quality teamwork- I\'d like to spend my time at a place that invests in my well being and encourages me to be a better person- I need to share my time with people that are also on a journey towards personal growth. Little did I know that I was writing a note to the universe asking for a change and it wasn\'t long before my best friend called needing my help with her new business. I quit my full time, steady paycheck job to help her part-time. I took advantage of the opportunity to pursue some of my other passions like going back to college for computer science, substitute teaching in local schools and working as a carpenter\'s apprentice. Let\'s just say I welcome variety :) Eventually my friend\'s business took off and I realized that I had always been someone\'s number two. It was time for me to step up and be my own number one but what would that look like? Writing down what I wanted seemed to work the first time so I tried it again but this time I knew my passion was in software. I modified my list to include software, travel and leadership. My hope was to work for a company that valued my strengths, assisted me with my weaknesses and respected me as a person. The universe answered with another dream job at a small, fast growing software company that included travel and a team of people I felt I had known my whole life. I loved my job so much and the people even more that it was a shock when the universe sent me miles west to meet an even more amazing company with equally amazing people. I have spent the last few years learning what it means to be a leader and how much I am capable of. I am grateful every day for the journey that led me to this moment and this company and for the encouragement to pursue even more of the items on my list. I am super excited to see what I can become and the role I will play in helping others on their journey.
