ABOUT ANNA MOTTICE
I\'m Anna Mottice (Horlacher), musician turned strategist. I recently heard that the best strategists aren\'t born, we\'re formed from a wide variety of backgrounds and human experiences. This requires us to be generalists but also be incredibly quick learners who adeptly respond with flexibility to meet the respective needs of the stakeholders, clients, and users in front of us. We speak executive, logistics, and people. We are thoughtful (and brilliantly effective) communicators. We ask the right questions, and we are experts at distilling the big ideas into formats that make people care. I love being in this club.I have a steady obsession with the quiet art of building. I believe in the intentional design of projects, teams, and the systems that allow people and purpose to thrive together. I believe in unreasonable hospitality. That every touchpoint matters. I do my best work helping organizations move from reactive motion to clear, intentional growth, always with the human experience at the center. My secret sauce lies at the intersection of hospitality, human-centric design, and behavioral neuroscience. But my super power is being undaunted. I love the tall task of embracing ambiguity and navigating the path toward shared goals and success. As a kid doing puzzles, letting my imagination run wild when doing theatre, learning a new aria, etc. I always trust that the end goal is achievable. We simply need to start small, take stock, and move forward with curiosity and agility.There\'s power in my years singing in a choir that has me intrinsically skilled at anticipating needs and collaborating. When will the soprano next to me take her breath? What vocal phrasing and vowel shape will help us blend? We listen dynamically and crescendo or decrescendo in layers and in unison. We create something far more profound together than we could alone. This is what we mean when we talk about synergy. Lucky for me, my education and career has added foundations and frameworks to bring this magic to my work.
