About Amber Brown

For over 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to empowering individuals and communities through inclusive, evidence-based sexuality education and reproductive health advocacy. As Director of Education and Training at Planned Parenthood Keystone, I design and lead programs that equip youth, adults, and professionals with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions—from puberty education to LGBTQ+ inclusion. In 2006, I founded The Spectrum, Berks County’s first community LGBTQ+ youth group, and continue to champion queer-affirming spaces. My work spans classrooms, coalitions (like Berks Teens and BCPUSH), and now birth support as a trained Community Doula & Lactation Counselor with Maternity Care Coalition, where I merge trauma-informed care with reproductive justice. I’m a trained birth doula and peer lactation counselor, having completed my training training in April 2025. I’m currently gaining clinical experience toward my Pennsylvania state doula certification (requiring attendance at 3 births). As a community health worker, I’m passionate about equitable, compassionate care for birthing people during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My approach blends evidence-based education, advocacy, and trauma-informed support
