As an Android engineer in the Discovery team, I focus on enhancing the user experience by improving search, navigation, and content discovery within the app. My responsibilities include handling major technical migrations, improving app stability, and ensuring the adoption of modern Android technologies.* Large-scale migrations: Successfully migrated our search infrastructure from Algolia to in-house SEAS APIs, ensuring a seamless transition and improved search performance.* Tracking & Analytics: Responsible for migrating Firebase tracking to Snowplow SDK within the Discovery squad, improving data accuracy and event tracking.* Legacy Code Modernization: Currently spearheading the transition from XML-based UI to Jetpack Compose, improving maintainability and developer experience.* Android Chapter Initiatives: Contribute to company-wide Android best practices, ensuring our app remains stable, up-to-date with the latest technologies, and maintains a high crash-free rate.
