About Amelie Bi

Hi! I’m Amelie, a freshman at Stony Brook University majoring in Economics. I’m interested in the human side of finance—how incentives, institutions, law, and policy shape markets and economic outcomes. I’m especially focused on understanding company and investor behavior and the role of regulation in real-world decision-making.Last summer, I interned at Balyasny Asset Management through the ATLAS Fellows program, gaining hands-on experience in Compliance and learning how SEC regulations operate in practice. At Stony Brook, I work in the financials sector of the student-run Fourier Fund. I’ve also built applied exposure to finance, economics, and policy through programs like Rock the Street, Wall Street, and the Morgan Stanley Finance Academy, and led policy discussions with economists in Washington, D.C.I’m looking for summer 2026 opportunities in markets, research, policy, or regulation where I can explore how financial systems and human behavior intersect. Long-term, I plan to attend law school and work at the crossroads of finance, law, and public policy.Outside of academics and work, I enjoy swimming, reading widely, and baking (especially anything involving matcha or chocolate).    ATLAS Fellows is a highly selective, merit-based scholarship and career development program supporting under-resourced youth interested in finance. Fellows receive scholarships, participate in four intensive summer internships at prestigious financial institutions, and are paired with dedicated mentors from the finance industry. The program also offers lifetime membership in the ATLAS Fellows community, providing ongoing networking, professional development, and support.
