ABOUT AMELIA DONADO

Amelia believes that the key to being a successful teacher is the willingness and ability to adapt. She has heavily leaned on those skills as she recently had to relocate to Lake Charles for personal reasons. She did not want to leave BrainTree, the speciality school she created and was so passionate about and attempted to manage her thriving specialty school, BrainTree in Youngsville, from a distance, but recognized that in order for the business to flourish she had to be hands on. Regretfully, she closed that location, but continues to run her private tutoring business. Amelia Donado is the past Owner and Director of BrainTree Academy and Learning Center. In addition to her administrative role, she will served as a teacher, and educational consultant. Amelia is a LA Certified Teacher who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University. She also attended LSU\'s School of Social Work program, where she maintained a 4.0 in the graduate program. Her passion to discover research-based teaching methods that significantly improve outcomes for children with learning differences led her participate in Orton-Gillingham training programs around the country. These experiences inspired her to create a school utilizing best practices for all learners here in Acadiana. Amelia has 20+ years of experience in educational administration and classroom teaching. She most recently worked as a teacher at Schools of the Sacred Heart (SJB) and in admissions and development at the Episcopal School of Acadiana.
