ABOUT AMELIA PERES
My work over the last 8+ years has centred around building a more sustainable and equitable world for future generations. My current focus lies is advancing the energy transition, to which I bring a deep holistic understanding of energy systems including efficiency, renewables, storage, hydrogen, large-scale system modelling and Canadian and international energy policy. However, in past professional lives I have also had the opportunity to dive into food and agriculture systems at the local and global levels, corporate sustainability strategy, and low-carbon infrastructure financing. This work has taken place within and between the public, private and non-profit sectors, so I know how to get things get done in different environments. Ok, that’s my work experience spiel, but who am I?I am both a people person and a huge nerd. I often find myself acting as a connector and translator of complex ideas, helping others understand technical problems and solutions. I am a pragmatic problem solver, skilled at taking large sticky issues, breaking them down, and getting the right people in the room to be able to move forward. And maybe most importantly, I’ve been told I’m a pretty fun and enjoyable person to work with. You can always count on me to kick off the pre-meeting small talk while we wait for everyone else to arrive.
