The Inspector report directly to the Chief Inspector and will perform the final inspection on all items to ensure its airworthiness.In most line maintenance functions, with the exception of RII designated items, Aviation Maintenance Technicians will act as a technician and inspector for the same task. Therefore, Aviation Maintenance Technicians must be: Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations in SECTION 145-Q-3 of this RSQSM and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used and required by the air carrier to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, or preventive maintenance is being performed; and proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.Ensuring that all inspections; both in-process and completions are properly performed on all work before it is approved for return to service, and that the most current inspections and maintenance records, reports and forms required for such release are properly executed.Complying with air carrier requirements IAW Title 14CFR Part 145, § 145.205.Whenever an RII inspection is required, the inspector tasked to accomplish the inspection is one that has not participated physically in the corrective action, unless it is an acceptable practice of the air carrier, and is qualified IAW SECTION 145-Q-5.
