After a decade long career as a legal policy advocate and researcher in India, I am now working with an international (inter-governmental) non-profit, as the Data Governance Lead within the Digital Policy and Practice team at CABI (which is part of its larger Digital Development team). My work includes strategic advisory and evidence-based consultation towards making data more FAIR (i.e, findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable). I am also working on how FAIR data can be used for bolstering AI usage with Agriculture and affiliated sectors (like climate change, finance), and the responsible and ethical application of AI systems in these fields to spur public welfare.
