Experience
Chemical Engineer
Jan 2021 — Present
Process Simulations and Safeguards group in the Chemical Fuel Cycle Technology division • Served as principal investigator on high-profile projects facilitating collaboration between industry, the Department of Energy, and multiple Argonne divisions. • Developed multimodal sensors to elucidate and quantify species within a molten salt media for material control and accountability of pyroprocessing and molten salt reactors.• Designed and fabricated multiple molten salt sampling systems for material control and accountability measurements for safeguarding pyroprocessing and molten salt reactors.• Performed a multitude of thermophysical and analytical measurements on molten salts including DSC, DTA, TGA, MS, XRD, CV, EIS, and LSV in large-scale radiological gloveboxes. • Established an innovative method used to purify actinide halides contaminated with oxygen and designed an off-gas system to scrub gaseous acid generated during the reaction. • Assisted in developing a quality assurance program for molten salt technology by writing, editing and implementing standard operating procedures for the thermophysical measurements of molten salts.
