At A Storied Life our mission is to bring more connection and peace to the experience of living and dying in Western New York. We host community workshops and small groups called Story Circles to explore our shared mortality, make meaning from all we\'ve been through, and find more peace and preparedness for dying/death. The key to our approach is the practice of storylistening - offering careful attention without intruding with impulses to interrupt, save, fix, or advise.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization based in Buffalo, NY with a mission to bring more connection and peace to living and dying in Western New York. We bring neighbors together in person for Befriending Death Gatherings, where we share credible, publicly available information and resources about end-of-life topics, discuss them together, and advise ourselves on our own way forward. We also host Story Circles which are a small group experience where participants meet for six sessions to share personal stories about birth, death, and other stories that \"are asking to be told.\" Our approach centers on Storylistening - the practice of holding space for another as they speak their stories and discover their own truth, offering careful attention without intruding with impulses to interrupt, save, fix, or advise. We come to your library or community center or park to host a safe, brave space for adults of any age to connect and to be seen and heard and to learn to tap into their own inner wisdom around the topics of dying, death, and living our lives with intention and meaning.
