At Milwaukee County, my focus as Energy Program Manager is on leading initiatives that support the county\'s ambitious Climate Action 2050 Plan. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the county and the communities in it, my efforts extend beyond project management to include developing and executing strategic energy reductions and decarbonization initiatives. My role is pivotal in benchmarking building energy performance and reporting on our strides toward significant energy and emissions reductions.

   The Energy Program Manager (EPM) at Milwaukee County leads initiatives to achieve the county\'s energy and emissions reduction goals. This role develops and implements energy conservation, efficiency, decarbonization, and renewable energy projects, while also supporting the Climate Action 2050 Plan. The EPM manages the energy data management platform to track, analyze, and report on energy performance, serving as the primary contact for the countywide clean energy program. the Energy Program Manager also manages the vendor relationship with the local utility across commodities. The role benchmarks building energy performance and communicates progress toward energy and emissions reduction goals for 900+ county-owned buildings spanning 12 million square feet. This includes compliance with the City of Milwaukee’s Energy Benchmarking ordinance as well as the EnergySTAR program for building certification.As part of an office of two, the role also improves and expands Milwaukee County\'s clean energy and climate action programs, and works to create and implement medium- and long-term department strategy. It supports initiatives to reduce energy costs and increase revenues through procurement practices. It also identifies, recommends, and secures external funding for clean energy and climate action projects.
