Leadership & Strategy-Develop and execute the bank’s SBA lending strategy aligned with overall commercial lending goals-Lead, mentor, and manage the SBA lending team — including SBA Loan Officer, SBA Loan Coordinators, SBA Operations and Servicing teams-Set production goals, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements-Build internal awareness and collaboration across departments (commercial lending, credit, operations, marketing, etc.).Business Development-Identify and cultivate relationships with referral sources such as accountants, brokers, lenders, and small business organizations-Expand the bank’s SBA footprint within targeted markets or industries-Oversee loan structuring to meet client needs while ensuring SBA eligibility and credit soundness.Credit & Risk Management-Ensure SBA loans comply with SBA SOP 50 10 and bank policies from origination through servicing-Oversee underwriting quality and credit risk management for all SBA products (7(a), 504, Express, etc.)-Oversee and manage SBA Servicing and Liquidations.Compliance & Reporting-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SBA regulations, secondary market trends, and guaranty purchase requirements-Coordinate audits, reviews, and SBA file requests-Prepare management reports on SBA pipeline, production, portfolio performance, and profitability.Operations & Process Management-Streamline end-to-end SBA loan processing for efficiency and consistency-Ensure timely submission and funding of loans through E-Tran and other SBA systems-Manage vendor relationships (packagers, closing attorneys, loan service providers, etc.).Training & Representation-Train bank staff on SBA products, eligibility, and referral opportunities-Represent the bank at SBA events, NAGGL conferences, and community or business development functions.
