ABOUT AMBER HECKELMAN
I am committed to creating healthy, just, equitable, sustainable, and resilient communities through collaborative research and knowledge mobilization. My research and consulting portfolio includes advancing sustainability goals, health and wellbeing, food security/sovereignty, climate resilience, and food systems transformation. I engage in collaborative research and use socioecological systems thinking to generate a comprehensive perspective on human-environment relations. I have nearly two decades of experience connecting and mobilizing research, policies, organizations, and communities. I have multi-sectoral experience, having worked for government, not-for-profits and philanthropy sectors, think tanks and academic institutions, as well as civil society organizations. My work also spans the globe, covering Canada, the United States, the Philippines, and Costa Rica. I firmly believe that all forms of diversity are inextricably linked and that the solutions to our world\'s problems must be as diverse and dynamic as the communities and ecosystems that lend colour and texture to the world.
