Hi everyone! I am a junior majoring in Finance and Business Analytics with a minor in Economics at the Belk College of Business. Problem-solving, continuous learning, and resourcefulness are my passions and the main forces behind my career goals. While I recognize the importance of textbook learning, I think the most powerful lessons come from practical encounters. To prepare for a dynamic profession in finance, I want to close the knowledge gap between theory and practice by looking for opportunities to practice my hands-on skills and learn from my experiences. I have over four years of experience in the service industry, where I used my ability to build trust, foster relationships, and deliver exceptional client experiences—critical skills for a successful career in finance. Additionally, my experience in marketing and social media management has given me insight into brand strategy, digital engagement, and corporate communications. As the Vice President of Professional Affairs for Alpha Kappa Psi, I oversee the chapter’s professional development, assisting members in achieving their career goals. Beyond my leadership roles, I am interested in financial planning & analysis (FP & A), Wealth Management, and Investment Management. My studies have provided me with a strong foundation in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, risk management, and capital allocation. I am eager to apply these concepts in a professional setting, particularly in roles that involve data-driven decision-making and strategic financial planning. I thrive in analytical environments and am committed to continuous growth, whether through internships, mentorship, or hands-on financial projects. This past summer, I interned at Sonic Automotive, a Fortune 300, publicly traded company, where I gained firsthand exposure to corporate finance and financial reporting. I contributed by reviewing past balance sheets and 10-K reports to complete management organizational reports and market share analyses. Additionally, I analyzed due diligence and legal statements related to real estate mergers and acquisitions. I updated the cash position and liquidity forecast, which was used to assess payables and forecast cash flow for the week. This experience strengthened my analytical skills and reinforced my passion for corporate finance, FP & A, and treasury management. I am excited to connect with professionals, recruiters, and peers whether it is discussing investment strategies, corporate finance trends, or industry insights, I welcome the opportunity to learn, grow, and collaborate.
