ABOUT AMAY B.

Ever since I made my first dish, a spiced omelette (although horribly carbonised, if you ask my mother) when I was 7, I began to feel as if the culinary life had chosen me. I love food, I love to create, and I love to put myself in the heat - combined with the experience I gained over the course of many failures and successes, I guess these are the reasons my romance with gastronomy intensified over the years!What interests me is seeing food from scholarly, creative as well as human perspectives, which helps me understand the roots of cuisine and allows me to brainstorm and create. Understanding the intricate, intriguing weave of food with all aspects of human life is what makes me love this field, and I hope to demonstrate and possibly spread this awareness of food in my career! I like to perform to the absolute best of my abilities and try to better my skills at every possible step; taking a moment of reflection and planning strategies to improve. My work with determination and passion sets me apart, and I try to aim for the very best!I am especially passionate about culinary history and nutritional anthropology, classical music, and absolutely love travelling and learning languages. I have also written for the culinary magazine Repast, and I plan to find more opportunities to write as well! Otherwise, you\'ll most probably find me watching Netflix dramas, with my cat, Peanut, or trying to eat something weird in some corner of the world.(Stinky tofu or fried caterpillar, anybody?) I look forward to connecting with you!
